… nothing sweeter than succumbing to the warm embrace of self-righteous anger and warranted outrage. The feelings of superiority we get from casting aspersions on people who have fucked up, or who were willfully wrong, mask the fear that it could just as easily have been us. We revel in piling on to the person who so clearly seems to deserve it.
