Well, many of the things we see in today's scenery, used to appear in Sci-fi movies long ago...
So, I wouldn't characterize it as an imaginative impossible scenario for the future.
Especially because of the fact that you understand human behaviour, you detect archetypes, you see "dot-connections" between actions of our species. And when one has also read about humanity's past, and knows how powerful patterns are...
If humanity forms a future like the one of your story, it will be a part of the Journey. The Destination is one, but there are various paths to it. I think we are made like this; to Understand only through the hard — and sometimes self-catastrophic — way.
I found it as dark as it needed to be for what it had to say. I loved the atmosphere and the way in which entities of "reality" are mixed with the "fictitious" creations.
Why deleting it?
