People tend to be unaware of the obvious. The eye is used to it, thus, doesn't give attention. Also, sometimes the obvious seems too "easy" to be the answer; we confuse "easy" with "simple". These are not identical. I think that's what happens with the reality of the world, of our existence, etc.; its lips out of our attention for a variety of reasons.
