Many people choose to be silent about a family member's death. They usually do it out of their inability to handle the conversation that will occur or the feelings that will be expressed...

But a kid's inner world interprets it differently.

We need to be able to talk about things like that to children. Not (over-)talking about it every day of their life, but not pretending there is not an elephant in the room either.
