Humans create humanoids out of narcissism or because they can’t stand themselves? I wonder... But again, these two are not so contradictory.

To me, AI is another way humans use to understand themselves, to realize the range to which their mind can be extended. If the creation will conquer the world of its creators, this also will be a way for humans to learn; to realize that they are the ones who have to be transformed. The external factor is always just the means.

But, this is just my viewpoint. Life will answer. It always does.
