Expectations is the factor that usually makes us get disappointed. They also make us give more attention to whether something has ended or not (everything ends) than to the moments and feelings we experienced while living it.

If we are in the moment, without any specific expectation for the future, everything becomes different (and better, in my opinion). But, it's a hard task, of course.

It needs independence, seeing ourselves as our own arks and no one else, and connecting with others (yes, the door needs to be open when we want to, and not always locked) from that self-reliant position.

To some people, this seems to be feelings-free, or absence of love. But I think we have completely misunderstood what love is.

Your post is deep, powerful, beautiful.
